We are looking for a Boulder County Farmer’s Market Manager
About the Company:
Corey’s Chocolate is a small family-owned and operated chocolate business based out of our home in Niwot, CO. We have been in business since 2018 and sell our products at farmers markets and live shows throughout Northern Colorado. We have a passion for producing delicious, premium chocolate treats and confections and have amassed an adoring fan base for our products over the years.
About the Role:
Title: Boulder County Farmer’s Market Manager
This a part-time, contract position
This is a great opportunity to connect with the local boulder county community and delight people with our delicious chocolate treats
There is opportunity for career growth within the company as we have many other live shows and markets throughout the year
This is a seasonal position, starting in June and going through November with the potential to join our seasonal Christmas market in Denver as well
You will be the primary manager at the booth, working alone or managing one helpers as needed
Compensation of $22/hour plus tips (tips are usually an additional $10-15+/hour per person), and a 5% commission upon completion of all shifts
Market hours & location:
Erie - Thursdays, 5pm-8pm, June 22 - Sept 21
Saturdays (a mix of dates at all these markets, June 24-Nov 18):
Louisville - Saturdays, 9am-1pm
Boulder - Saturdays, 8am-2pm
Longmont - Saturdays, 8am-1pm
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle that has the capacity to transport market set-up equipment including a 10’ by 10’ collapsable standup tent, up to six large coolers, folding tables, weights for tent, and other market materials
Able to lift 50 lbs and able to stand at the booth for 7 to 8 hour long shifts
Able to set up and break down the market booth before and after the market and during rainy, windy, and other inclement weather conditions
Must have a friendly personality and the ability to maintain a positive attitude for a 7 to 8 hour market shift
Must be able to make sales of chocolate products to the public efficiently and effectively in a friendly and kind manner
Must have a well groomed and neat appearance
Responsibilities:
Setting up, operating, and breaking down the Corey’s Chocolate booth at farmer’s markets
Transporting product and market materials to and from the production facility in Longmont, and to/from the applicable market
Responsible for all chocolate products; includes keeping product safe from the heat and inclement weather, protecting glass jars and all other products from damage, and ensuring that ice packs and coolers are keeping the chocolate at a safe temperature
Using the sales script to make sales to farmer’s market customers and educating customers about Corey’s Chocolate and our products
Training and coaching the sales associates in the methods of sales using the training and operations manual and sales script
Supervising and supporting the sales associates during their market shift
Being courteous, friendly, and kind with all customers, team members, other vendors, and market coordinators and staff
Collecting and safeguarding all cash until it is deposited in the designated manner
Completing the inventory and sales summary sheet before the completion of market shift.
Communicating by text or call with the business owner about any market needs including (market equipment, product needs, staffing needs, and any other support)
Completing all agreed upon market shifts through the season to receive the commission bonus
Expectations:
Arrive to markets with a clean and professional appearance adhering to the dress code standard
Arrive on time - picking up supplies and product ahead of markets and arriving at markets at least one hour prior to start time
Follow operational procedures and sales scripts as documented in operations manual
As a contractor, responsible for invoicing hours and payment due
Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and to work hard
Manage breaks and booth coverage during markets
